Did you know that its possible to have electrical contact with a spinning object without the need for brushes or slip rings?   As you can see, from the GIF annimation show below, the  bundle connecting to the disk is bending, yet it is not twisting.  Note also that that the disk rotates twice for one full rotation of the connecting  bundle.

This annimation was done with the free POV-Ray raytracer.
